2025 Virginia Friendlies

The Virginia Friendlies provide NJODP teams with an excellent opportunity to compete against top ODP programs from across the region. This event allows players to test their skills against strong competition while further developing their tactical and technical abilities in a high-level environment.

Event Details:

• Date: February 22nd and 23rd 2025
• Location: Warhill Sports Complex (4900 Stadium Rd Williamsburg, Virginia) click here to view field map
• Opponents: ODP teams from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and Eastern Pennsylvania
• TeamSnap Attendance Deadline: TBD – Players must confirm their availability by this date to ensure accurate planning and logistics.

We encourage all players and families to review their schedules and confirm attendance via TeamSnap before the deadline to assist with planning travel and accommodations.

Weather Updates: Virginia ODP is closely monitoring the weather and working with their field contact regarding the predicted inclement weather. We will communicate any cancelations if confirmed from Virginia as soon as they’re  received tomorrow evening. Currently all grass fields had to be closed, therefore, schedules have been updated for all team’s games in TeamSnap.  Please double check your child’s current game schedule.

We look forward to seeing you this weekend Saturday, February 22^nd and Sunday, February 23^rd (girls and boys) for the Virginia ODP Friendlies. Below is important information regarding the upcoming event that we are asking parents to read thoroughly.

Attire: 

• All field players should wear their RED uniform shirt and bring their BLACK shirt. Please wear your uniform shorts and socks. Players can wear black under their uniforms in case of colder weather. We encourage our players to please dress weather appropriate for the games.
• Goalkeepers need to come in their GK ODP uniform.
• Players must wear shin guards.
• Players will need to bring their own water to stay properly hydrated and an inflated ball. We are not responsible for lost balls.

School Release Letter: Please see the attached School Release Letter in case you are leaving early on Friday for travel. (Attached to email sent via TeamSnap)

Notes from Virginia ODP: We will be using the BAND app again this year.  Last year, we had great success and tons of interaction throughout the weekend in our app.  Please join the app!  This will be the fastest way to us to communicate any changes/updates needed throughout the weekend.

• TeamSnap: Schedules are posted on TeamSnap. Please follow your assigned team’s schedules.  Any updates to your child’s availability for this event, should be sent to odp@njyouthsoccer.com with your child’s full name, birth year and team assignment. Players with illnesses or injuries can contact us via email. As previously communicated, the availability feature for this event isn’t available so we can track any updates in player’s availability via email.
• Alerts:  Any updates or e.g. cancellation due to unexpected weather will be communicated via email.

Sideline Conduct:

• We remind you that we represent New Jersey ODP. It is important that we support our team in a positive manner and refrain from any type of abuse towards others including players, coaches, and referees.
• In respect for the facilities, please make sure you pick up all garbage and either throw it in the proper receptacle or take it with you at the end of your game.
