The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a national team program in the United States that identifies and develops young soccer players. It is designed to identify and develop the best soccer players in the country, and it is operated by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). The ODP is a nationwide network of regional and state-level programs that provide high-level training and competition for players in various age groups. Players who are selected for the ODP participate in regional and national camps and tournaments, and they also have the opportunity to be selected for national team programs at the youth level. The goal of the ODP is to identify and develop players who have the potential to represent the United States in international competition, including at the Olympic Games.
USYS pathway to ODP National Team
1. Selection for the NJ ODP team: This is the first step in the ODP pathway, and it involves being selected to represent your state in the ODP program. Standout performers of the NJ ODP team are recommended to the next level of the ODP pathway.
2. East Region ID Camp: This camp brings together the top players from the eastern part of the country, and it is a chance for players to demonstrate their skills and be evaluated by regional and national coaches. Standout performers at the East Region ID Camp are invited to the next level of the ODP pathway the Inter Regional ID Camp.
3. Inter-regional ID Camp: This camp features the best players from all four regions (East, Midwest, South, and West), and it is a highly competitive event. Players who excel at the Inter-regional ID Camp are invited to the National Training Center.
4. National Training Center: The National Training Center brings together the top ODP players from around the country, and it is a chance for these players to represent the ODP National team. The ODP National team competes in top tournaments in the United States, providing a platform for players to demonstrate their abilities against the best in the nation and play in front of US Soccer scouts and college coaches.
